  1. 125g butter, softened
  2. 3/4 cup caster sugar
  3. 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  4. 1 1/4 cups self-raising flour, sifted
  5. 1/4 cup cocoa powder, sifted
  6. 1/2 cup milk

The instruction how to make Homemade chocolate cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180u00b0C/160u00b0C fan-forced. Grease 7cm-deep, 20cm round cake pan. Line bases and sides with baking paper.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in flour, cocoa and milk until combined.
  3. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes or until skewer inserted in centre comes out clean. Stand in pan for 5 minutes. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
